Product Overview

Balanceè is an on-demand platform that connects vehicle owners, businesses, and organizations to trustworthyrepair stations around them, while keeping track of the repairs. The Balanceè app lets users book priorityappointments anywhere at any of our partnered stations without losing a record. Balanceè is a next generationsoftware solution where end users can access anything and everything about their vehicles.

Problem Statement

In a large city like Lagos, with a population of over 21 million people, transportation is a major issue. People must get around. Primarily, people get around by road – ride hailing services, Uber, personal cars, public transportation etc. It is estimated that there are over 5 million [private] cars and 200,000 commercial vehicles that ply the roads in Lagos daily. In 2017, Lagos State recorded an average of 227 vehicles per kilometer of the road daily. Many of these roads are bad and cause regular damage to vehicles daily, thus people are forced to carry out more frequent repairs to maintain the quality of their car. This method of maintenance brings in a few problems that Balanceè hopes to solve.

User Research

I researched the users and their primary needs. This is set to have a clear  understanding of the problem and how it’s related to the user’s expectations. I worked with the UX team at Balancee to build a survey to get into the mind of the user and also how we can tailor our solutions to fit their needs.

I also did a research to understand the product market fit and how much of people might be willing to use the product as an intermediary between them (as vehicle owners) and the Repair stations.

Target users & their goals

The Customer’s (Vehicle owners) goal is to get an easy access to repair stations close to their location and schedule to fix their car.

The Repair station’s goal is to have a platform to receive, manage and service all the repair station transactions as well as inventory.

The Old Website

The Website Design

I designed a simple intuitive website based on the product requirements and for a fact that the landing page caters for the repair stations and the customers at the same time. The Landing page is expected to provide information detailed enough to keep the users engaged and at the same time not overwhelm the user.

The idea is to ensure the user gets to find repair stations at a glance and also, the repair stations also get to login or create a repair station account without stress.
